The BMW X6 was launched in 2008 by German auto maker BMW. It was launched as mid-size luxury car with features including high ground clearance, four wheel drives and all weather ability. The X6 model basically known as coupe version of X5, was proposed at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. In April 2009, the sporty X6 M version was announced with 555 hp (414 kW), 4.4 – liters turbocharged V8.
By adding a fourth line of SUVs, BMW is signaling that it believes that customers are still interested in a vehicle that can get the job done on the road and, if need be, be taken off the road. Based on the same platform underpinning its 1-series line of cars, the X1 will be powered by a standard 2.0L I4 gas engine paired with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. That arrangement should help the X1 break the 30 mpg highway barrier, but it could be that a similar sized diesel engine will have the greatest appeal for customers as BMW estimates that its 2.0L diesel will achieve about 45 mpg on the highway.
The new BMW X1 is ready to hit the car market with an option of 6-cylinder gasoline engine and three 4-cylinder diesel versions. The 6-cylinder gasoline engine can deliver power up to 190 kilo watts, whereas the BMW X1 xDrive 23d comes equipped with a twin turbo engine can deliver power up to 150 kilo watts and it is also featured with a common rail fuel injection system.
BMW keep in view not only giving the car a majestic look but also the importance of the occupants’ safety. For that reason BMW has mounted more lights in the vehicles than any other car manufacturer company. Among these additional lights are corner lights.
The sports car, 2010 BMW X1 is equipped with a 2.0 liter I-4 engine that can produce power up to 143 hp. The engine in the car is mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission. The other optional engine to the car is a 6-speed automatic transmission. The other engines offered by the sports car include 2.0 liter I-4 engine that produces 170 hp, 2.0 liter I4 twin turbo diesel that produces 204 hp, 3.0 liter I-6 engine that produces 258 hp, 2.0 liter I4 diesel engine that delivers 143 hp and a 2.0 liter I-4 diesel model that produces 177 hp.
